Machinist 2 - CNC Lathe

Under general supervision, the CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for completing first time and repeat job set-ups on lathes, may lead and train, administering approved program changes and fixture modifications. Develops operation sequences and provides recommendations for improving efficiency and processes. The CNC Lathe Machinist may work with management and production engineers to ensure that timelines as well as quality goals are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of the part, evaluate dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
? Utilization of calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, other measuring tools. Upload and download of programs, change collet & Jaws, feed tube liners and tooling.
? Select tools and edit efficient programs for CNC machines to maximize utilization and minimize downtime of the equipment. Make offset and edit adjustments on machines when necessary.
? Perform initial machine setup and monitor speeds and feeds to determine set-up needs.
? Update and create tool set-up sheets and train machine operators on run procedures.
? Maintaining on time set up schedule per production control and run production, as necessary.
? Maintains documentation on assigned projects.
? Documents actions by completing production and quality forms (TPM).
? Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. A Bachelor's or technical degree and two to four years of experience preferred. Must have a minimum of two years of experience with CNC type turning. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints. Familiarity with Hardinge Conquest, Tsugami Swiss (S206), and manual high-speed lathes is preferred. Must possess a clear understanding of general math (including fractions and decimals) and have the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hearing:
Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Speaking:
Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Vision:
Visual acuity Eyesight 20/25 with or without correction. Will be required to take and pass a color blindness test for visual inspections.
Other:
Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite manufacturing duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
Rate:
$18.76 - $30.00Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
